Parking is free and readily available about half a mile south of the parade route. Unusual palm tree in someone's yard.
The Parade is preceded (and followed) by religious zealots.
Grandstand in front of Pasadena City College. Tickets are $100. I prefer to stand on the street, closer to the action.
People walk the route selling every kind of crap imaginable.
Other people get in on the act.
A do-it-yourself decorating job.
These people generated some hostility by accusing Jesus of causing (or at least allowing) the 9-11 terrorist attack.
More crap. At least the guy had a nice hat.
Whacko from across the street kept trying to whip the crowd into a frenzy by yelling "Happy New Year!" to the people in the bleachers as loud as he could.
Finally the police escort that clears the street for the Parade. It has taken the Parade over an hour to reach this point.
My grand niece Maggie and friend Jacob ended up across the street.
First float, displaying theme of the Parade, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"
